For example heating water
Untreated drinking water can’t always be used as heating filling and top-up water. Planning a hot water heating system according to EN 12828 always requires an analysis of the drinking water destined for use as heating water.
Drinking water regulations usually don’t specify any limit values for water hardness. However, german VDI 2035, Sheet 1 compares the four boiler groups, which are graded according to their output in kW, with guide values for carbonate hardness. For the sake of simplicity, the guide values are based on the total hardness in mol/m³.
Trust is good – control is better
Every component of a heating system must comply with the properties required and be documented by the operator of the system. However, it is all too often the case that inspections are reduced to just checking the fill level. Possible damage in heating systems can be completely avoided, or at least detected at an early stage, by using simple measuring methods.
